Woolen Mills Self Storage LLC is the largest and most modern storage facility in Charlottesville and is locally owned and operated.

The facility is located one mile east of Charlottesville's Historic Downtown and is named for the nearby Charlottesville Woolen Mills which operated from the 1840's to the 1960's.

The original mill manufactured uniforms for the Confederate Army during the Civil War and was burned by Union Soldiers in 1865.

Thomas Jefferson Randolph, grandson of Thomas Jefferson, was President of the Mill from 1873 to 1875.

A short distance away is the popular Rivanna Greenbelt Trail which meanders along the Rivanna River.

Woolen Mills Self Storage has doubled in size since its 2001 opening and offers both Regular and Climate Controlled Units as well as Auto, Boat and Recreational Vehicle spaces, all located in a pleasant, well lit, and nicely maintained setting.
